Telmex Internacional Reports Strong Q108 Results

Mexican fixed-line operator Telmex has announced its Q108 results, which show a 5.5% year-on-year (y-o-y) fall in revenue. The soon-to-be spun off unit Telmex Internacional, on the other hand, showed an 11.5% increase in revenues across its five Latin American markets. The unit is set to be listed on the US and Mexican stock markets in June 2008 and is being separated in order to allow Telmex in Mexico to concentrate on its struggling fixed-line operations and separate the unit from ongoing regulatory investigations.
