Tele2 CEE Mobile Base Grows By 25%

Sweden-based Tele2 AB has released its financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2008. On an annualised basis, the company reported a 25.5% increase in the number of mobile phone customers served in Central and Eastern European (CEE), from 10.238mn in Q107 to 12.848mn in Q108. The number of fixed broadband customers in the region grew by nearly 61% to 53,000 during this period, but the number of fixed-telephony customers fell by 15% to 744,000.
