Alcatel-Lucent Supplies Libyan WiMAX Network

Alcatel-Lucent has been contracted to build a commercial WiMAX network for Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) for approximately LYD70mn (US$60mn). The national operator claims that the new high-speed wireless broadband network would serve 18 large towns and cities, including the capital Tripoli, covering an area of approximately 1.8mn square kilometres in total.
