Brasil Telecom Contracts Ericsson And ZTE For 3G
February 2008 | Contract NewsFixed and mobile operator Brasil Telecom has announced a contract with Ericsson and ZTE to provide equipment for its 3G mobile network. The company won two licences to offer 3G services in regions II and XI in December's 3G auction and plans to launch UMTS services by the end of March 2008. Despite rumours of a possible take-over by rival Oi, Brasil Telecom has continued to grant contracts aimed at expanding its network reach, having granted a contract in January to Alcatel-Lucent to expand its fixed and mobile networks.
