Kyivstar, MTS Face Up To Ukraine's Alternatives
October 2007 | Project NewsThe Ukrainian market has waited a long time for mobile 3G deployment. However, following the launch of alternative mobile operator Telesystems' PEOPLEnet brand earlier this year (it has about one million subscribers to its CDMA2000 EV-DO network), state-owned Ukrtelecom, the country's sole UMTS licence holder, has pledged to launch its W-CDMA network in November 2007.
