Maroc Telecom Releases 9M07 Results
November 2007 | Company Finance AlertMaroc Telecom, Morocco's incumbent operator has witnessed steady growth of its mobile customer base, with 1.1mn net additions in the third quarter of 2007. This brought the total number of subscribers in its domestic market to 12.838mn, reflecting an increase of 19.9% since the end of last year or 2.128mn net additions. However, competition from Meditel, owned by Spain's Telefónica continues to place a strain on Maroc Telecom, clearly indicated by the latter's mobile churn rates. This reached 26.6% in Q307, an increase of 6.2 percentage points during the year, while monthly blended ARPU rates fell by 8.1% y-o-y to MAD109.
