Alcatel-Lucent Wins German Contract Extension

In a boost for the beleaguered telecoms equipment vendor, Alcatel-Lucent has had its maintenance and operation agreement with German mobile operator E-Plus extended to 2012. The contract, signed on March 1 2007, was initially for a period of three years but will now run until March 2012. E-Plus, Germany's third-largest mobile operator, said that it had decided to extend the deal due to their satisfaction with Alcatel-Lucent's performance over the first six months of the contract.
