América Móvil To Invest US$12bn In Operations

América Móvil's chief financial officer, Carlos García, confirmed during the company's fourth quarter earnings conference call that the operator would be investing US$12bn in its operations over the next three years. América Móvil, which operates in 16 countries across Central and South America, the Caribbean, Mexico and the US, will be investing in expanding its networks with a particular focus on 3G network, having made several 3G launches in the past six months. América Móvil announced a 23.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in subscribers at the end of 2007, bringing its total customer base to 157.3mn.
