AIS Tunes Into 'Radio TV' Services

February 2008 | Product Launch

AIS, Thailand's mobile market leader, has launched an interactive radio and video streaming service in partnership with local broadcaster 99.5 Advance Radio. The operator's target audience are its 4mn subscribers who have GPRS and EDGE-based handsets. The aim is to develop AIS' non-voice revenues, which have for the most part remained stagnant over the past year ended September 2007. Divided into postpaid and prepaid as a percentage of total service revenues, these stood at 4.5% and 6.6% respectively in Q307, against 3.8% for postpaid and 6.3% for prepaid in Q306. For this year, the operator is targeting non-voice service revenues of THB10bn out of THB16bn for VAS revenues.
