Orange Extends Swiss HSDPA Coverage
July 2007 | Project NewsOrange Switzerland has expanded the scope of its HSDPA network to include the cities of Geneva, Lugano and Zurich, the operator has announced. The expansion is part of Orange's plan to provide 50% HSDPA population coverage by the end of 2007, which will include the cities of Basel, Bern and Lausanne. Orange, part of the France Telecom group, has provided 3G services over a UMTS network for the past two years but only recently began rolling out the faster HSDPA standard. By the end of 2007, Orange hopes that 90% of the Swiss population will have access to its UMTS or HSDPA services.
