Venezuela To Establish Chinese Mobile Factory
June 2007 | Company Finance AlertZTE, the Chinese telecoms equipment vendor is to establish a mobile handset factory in Venezuela by the second half of this year, according to local press reports. The vendor will compete against rival Chinese vendor Huawei Technologies, which has similarly promised to build a GSM handset production facility in the country with local telecoms operator CVG Telecom by 2008. Both handset factories form part of an agreement reached during Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez's trip to China in August 2006.
