Telekom Austria Relies On Emerging Portfolio Again - But For How Much Longer?
May 2007 | Company Finance AlertResults from Telekom Austria's first quarter performance for 2007 tell an all too familiar story for an incumbent operator in Western Europe. Another "challenging" domestic market is rescued by strong international growth. Subsidiary growth in Bulgaria, Croatia and to a lesser extent Slovenia is rapid, but even here, these markets are fast nearing saturation levels and facing falling net addition numbers. This has caused Telekom Austria to look further afield and will start operations in Serbia and Macedonia later in the year, as the operator's capex is set to rise considerably due to planned investments in these two countries.
