Changes Afoot In Dutch Telecoms Market
May 2007 | Industry NewsSignificant changes in the ownership of several Dutch telecoms operators look likely if recent media reports are to be believed. According to French newspaper Les Echos, a deal between France Telecom and German counterpart Deutsche Telekom regarding an asset swap is imminent. The deal is expected to result in Deutsche Telekom taking control of Orange Netherlands, France Telecom's Dutch mobile unit, for a sum of around EUR1.6bn. In return, France Telecom is to buy Spanish internet provider Ya.com (also known as T-Online Spain) from the German giant.
