Oger Puts Acquisitions Before IPO
March 2007 | Company News AlertOger Telecom has confirmed its commitment to expansion through acquisition, despite a number of recent setbacks. Its most recent defeat saw the Dubai-based operator lose out in the tender for Saudi Arabia's third mobile licence, when its bid of US$4bn was far exceeded by the US$6.1bn winning offer from Kuwait's MTC. The loss followed Oger's failure to win a stake in Tunisia's incumbent fixed-line operator Tunisie Telecom, which was awarded by the government to fellow UAE group Dubai Holding.
