TCI Looks Set To Be Privatised
March 2007 | Company News AlertThe Telecommunications Company of Iran (TCI) has been granted permission to privatise its operations by the government, which would make the operator the first large-scale state company to undergo the process. This new development follows on the back of the implementation of Article 44 as part of the country's constitution, which seeks large-scale privatisation to 'help achieve, transparent and suitable mechanisms in economic terms.' Further aspects of the article also involve preventing the creation of new monopolies, facilitating competition among business institutions as well as checking for illegal business restrictions.
