International Interest In Kosovo Mobile Licence

January 2007 | Project News

Four companies have joined the bidding for Kosovo's second mobile licence. Mobilkom austria, Kosmocell, Team Kosova and Telekom Slovenije have all reportedly entered the tender and will now have their bids scrutinised by a bid evaluation committee, composed of representatives from the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA), the government and the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Kosovo's interim civilian authority. A fifth bid from Germany's IWH International was disqualified because it was submitted after the January 17 deadline. The price for the licence has been set at EUR20mn, with the winning bidder expected to be announced by the end of February.
