Irancell Confident With Huawei Partnership
December 2006 | Contract NewsIrancell, the mobile operator managed by South Africa's MTN Group has continued with developments surrounding the expansion of its mobile network in its domestic market Iran. Having awarded Chinese equipment vendor Huawei Technologies with an initial network rollout contract to cover three cities: Tehran, Masahd and Tabriz, the operator is seeking to cover a further two cities, Sari and Karaj, by YE06. To this end, Huawei has once again been approached by the operator, with which it is currently conducting negotiations. It is expected that this latest contract will see Huawei deploy base station transceivers (BTS) and base station controller
