Televisa Focuses In On Multimedia Services, Ahead Of Triple-Play

Mexico-based broadcasting company Grupo Televisa has launched a new content platform for internet subscribers across Latin America, in its latest drive to expand revenues outside of its core broadcast operations. Over its latest platform, users will be able to download a variety of content from movies to music, at a cost of US$12 per month or US$86 annually. In addition, the company has also commercially deployed a video-on-demand (VoD) service, which includes some of its regular programming as well as exclusive shows, although this will only be made available in the Mexico City area.
