Interest Finally Shown In France's Fourth 3G Licence

France's remaining 3G licence may finally be sold, after broadband operator Iliad told the industry regulator, Arcep, that it would be interested in acquiring it. In an official statement, Iliad confirmed its interest, although it said that it could not make a clear commitment until the procedure for selling the licence was clarified by Arcep. The regulator is expected to offer the licence for the third time in 2007. It was first offered as one of four 3G licences in January 2001, but just two bids were received, from Orange and SFR.
