Heavy Prepaid Usage To Offer Limited Future Returns For CellStar
October 2006 | Company Finance AlertThe Latin American region now accounts for 63% of total revenues for US-based telecoms equipment and content provider CellStar, against 53% in the previous year. The growing importance of the region for the company, which recently exited Asia Pacific, and has seen its North American revenues fall, has largely been attributed to the Chilean mobile market. Revenues accrued from Chile have tripled over the past year to reach US$12.5mn, driven in large part to the aggressive roll out of America Movil's network.
