MNP and Price Wars Combine to Impact DoCoMo Performance

On the back of a disappointing first half to fiscal 2007, ending September 30, 2006, NTT DoCoMo, Japan's leading mobile operator posted a 20% fall in net profits. This had nothing to do with the very recent introduction of MNP and everything to do with rising costs related to its continued efforts to migrate existing customers to its FOMA 3G platform.
