Yet Another Serbian Asset Up For Sale

Competition in Serbia's mobile market is certainly hotting up. Just weeks after Norwegian operator Telenor won control of operator Mobi 63 in an auction, the Serbian government has announced a tender for the country's third wireless licence. BMI believes that there will be no shortage of bidders. With a penetration rate of less than 60% at the end of 2005, the Serbian market offers excellent growth potential. BMI forecasts that penetration will hit 66% by the end of 2006, but once a third operator enters the fray and Telenor gets its growth strategy underway, we predict that growth will accelerate.
