Yet Another Serbian Asset Up For Sale
September 2006 | Industry NewsCompetition in Serbia's mobile market is certainly hotting up. Just weeks after Norwegian operator Telenor won control of operator Mobi 63 in an auction, the Serbian government has announced a tender for the country's third wireless licence. BMI believes that there will be no shortage of bidders. With a penetration rate of less than 60% at the end of 2005, the Serbian market offers excellent growth potential. BMI forecasts that penetration will hit 66% by the end of 2006, but once a third operator enters the fray and Telenor gets its growth strategy underway, we predict that growth will accelerate.
