Belgacom Takes Full Control Of Mobile Division
August 2006 | Company News AlertBelgian telecoms incumbent Belgacom could merge with its mobile subsidiary Proximus, after agreeing to buy Vodafone's stake in the operator for EUR2bn. The deal will give Belgacom 100% control over Proximus, which is Belgium's largest mobile operator. 'The agreement with Vodafone will allow us to strengthen the co-operation within our group, and respond to the market trend towards convergence by focusing on delivering fully integrated solutions to our customers,' said Belgacom Chief Executive Didier Bellens.
