Vivo Reports Substantial Loss On Interconnection Fees

Continued reduction in the number of minutes for incoming traffic caused by the migration from fixed-mobile to mobile-mobile traffic has led to Brazil's leading mobile operator Vivo reporting a Q2 net loss of BRL493mn, against BRL253mn in Q205, almost double that recorded a year ago. Further contributing factors, which saw total net revenues of BRL2.6bn, down by 9.8% y-o-y, related to a greater choice of tariff plans for users and customers using their airtime allowance more wisely.
