A Tale Of Two Europes

Much of Eastern Europe's telecoms sector is currently dominated by a handful of large operators, who quickly took advantage of the liberalisation of markets in the former Eastern bloc. Virtually every country across the region is home to at least one of T-Mobile, Orange or Vodafone. However, the big European operators have conspicuously failed to take control of the most lucrative market of them all - Russia. This vast country is one of very few in Eastern Europe where domestic companies dominate the telecoms industry.
