Egypt's Operators Getting A Free Ride From Etisalat?

UAE-based telecoms operator Etisalat has promised to invest up to US$1bn in the initial phase of the roll out of its newly acquired mobile operating licence in Egypt to form a modern network. The operator's chairman Mohammad Hassan Oman said that in a country, with such large market potential, demand for services would remain elastic, and that it hoped to quickly build up its market share by focusing on achieving bulk net additions, through offering competitively priced tariffs in a high priced market.
