Grupo Televisia Seeks Bill To Protect Dominant Position
March 2006 | Legal NewsSpain-based media company Grupo Televisia is attempting to push a bill through Mexico's Congress, which would help protect the company from the threat of potential entrants into the media market, in which it dominates. Grupo Televisia, which owns four of Mexico's six national networks, in addition to Cablevisión, the country's largest cable operator and Innova, the only direct-to-home (DTH) TV provider, is eager that the bill should be passed ahead of the country's elections in July 2006.
