Nokia Expands Mexico Plant As It Seeks To Maintain Lead Position
March 2006 | Company Finance AlertFinland-based telecoms equipment vendor Nokia has opened a new building, near to its existing plant in Reynosa, Mexico. The additional building, which cost over US$50mn to construct, will help boost the vendor's mobile handset production, providing greater flexibility and capacity in order to meet the growing demands from Nokia's customers in the Americas. The new plant will be responsible for manufacturing not only low-cost handsets for Latin America, but also satisfying demand for high-end handsets from its customers in North America.
