PTA Faces Increase in Customer Complaints as Operators Suffer from Congestion
May 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisIn the face of an increasing number of customer complaints on the poor quality of networks and unsatisfactory customer service, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has reminded the country's operators to maintain a proper record of cellular subscribers and to follow the PTA's requirements when connecting new customers. Over the first three months of the year alone, the PTA has received about 700 complaints, a 23% y-o-y increase with the majority of these (48%) made against the market leader Mobilink. Another 28% were made against Ufone, followed by Warid (10%), Telenor and Paktel (7%), and Instaphone
