Avea Aware Of Growing Competition
June 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisTurkey's third-ranked mobile operator Avea has announced the award of a network expansion contract valued at US$85mn to global telecoms equipment vendor Ericsson. But is this a case of too little too late for the operator? Since the end of 2005, the Turkish telecoms industry has undergone some sweeping changes, and now it looks as if Avea has finally awoken to find that it must invest more into its networks in order to stand a fighting chance of retaining and improving its existing market share.
