Iran Slaps Mobile Imports With Hefty Tax Rise
May 2006 | Project NewsThe Iranian government has approved a move to raise the level of import tax levied on mobile handsets to 60%, from its existing 4% tax level. The jump in the price of handsets is expected to disrupt the market, given that the significant number of SIM cards due to be made available in the market may not be taken up as quickly as thought.
