Unified Telecoms Licences: A Blessing Or Burden For Nigerian Operators

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the country's telecoms regulatory body has finally begun implementing the Unified Licensing Regime it set out in February this year. Under the regime, private telecom operators (PTOs) offering fixed wireless access services over CDMA networks will no longer be confined to specific geographic areas, but will be able to offer their customers national coverage through roaming services.
