Belgacom Invests In International Infrastructure
June 2006 | Project NewsWith market conditions toughening at home, Belgium's leading telecoms operator, Belgacom, has announced plans to invest in its international carrier services. The operator will team up with German electronics giant Siemens to build what they claim will be the first telecoms network based on ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add & Drop Multiplexer) technology in Europe. Using this new fibre-based network, Belgacom's international carrier services (ICS) division will be able to provide customers with transmission capacity of up to 40Gbps.
