H3G Download Figures Reveal Impact of Mobile Music Market

UK 3G operator Hutchison 3G has revealed that its customers bought more than one million music tracks and videos during April 2006. During that month, the operator accounted for 17% of all digital downloads purchased in the UK, making it second only to Apple's iTunes website for digital music sales. 'This million a month milestone is significant to us and to the wider music industry', said 3's Marketing Director Graeme Oxby, adding that 'a few years ago no-one would have believed mobile could have had such an impact on the music
