O2 Jumps On Fixed-Line Bandwagon

Meanwhile, mobile phone retailer Carphone Warhouse has announced that it has signed up 340,000 customers to its 'free' broadband service in just two months. The retailer, which offers broadband services for free when customers sign up to its fixed-line telephone service, said the response had 'exceeded our most optimistic expectations'. The service was launched in April, with Carphone claiming that its prices undercut those of rivals such as BT by up to 60%.
