Opera Reports Explosive Africa Mobile Data Growth

Mobile data consumption growth rates are rocketing in many of Africa's smaller and developing markets, according to mobile browser statistics collated by Opera Software. The company's latest State of the Mobile Web report focuses on Africa and shows that, even in countries where 3G networks are absent and where most consumers cannot afford a smartphone or tablet computer, mobile internet access is on the rise. To BMI, the data reinforce our view that the Sub-Saharan African market offers plenty of investment opportunities, not just in terms of networks and infrastructure, but also in terms of locally-produced and targeted content.
