Ericsson To Upgrade Telekom Austria Networks

Telekom Austria, which has operations in a number of Central and Eastern Europe markets, has selected Swedish vendor Ericsson for an upgrade to its 2G and 3G networks, and the provision of LTE infrastructure in its Austrian and Croatian operations. The rollout is already under way and is an extension of the existing relationship between the operator and vendor. BMI believes the decision to invest in network upgrades, and particularly an integrated approach for legacy networks and LTE, is a sound strategic move, given Telekom Austria's position as a leading mobile broadband provider.
