Korek Awards Managed Services Contract

Iraqi mobile operator Korek has signed a three-year managed services contract with leading telecoms equipment provider Ericsson. The deal includes enhancements and improved efficiencies for the network, and marks another deal between the two companies. For Korek, the deal will allow the management of the network to be outsourced, leaving the operator to concentrate on services and product offerings. BMI's core view for managed services contracts is that they are likely to gain in popularity as operators seek network efficiencies and lower costs.
