Firefox HTML5 OS Gaining Support

Internet browser developer Mozilla Foundation has provided further details of its new mobile device operating system (OS), based on HTML5 technology. The OS will be marketed under Mozilla's well-established Firefox brand and has gained a number of high-profile partners that will support the development and roll-out of entry-level internet-enabled devices running it. The new platform is designed to appeal to the billions of consumers joining the smartphone market in emerging and mature markets worldwide in the next five years. However, BMI again cautions that the new OS will face stiff competition from well-established rival platforms.
