UNE Gains Investment

Municipal telecoms operator UNE-EPM has confirmed a loan for COP400bn (US$224mn) with a number of local banks, emphasising confidence in the company. The funds will finance investment in network expansion and market growth, in line with its business plan. UNE's LTE network launched in June 2012, the first in the region and marking the company out as a technology leader in Colombia. BMI believes the additional funding will ensure the company continues to build its presence across Colombia.
