Columbus To Spur Broadband Competition

Triple-play operator Columbus International has agreed to acquire two local rivals in a deal that expands its converged service capabilities in its home market of Barbados and deepens its reach into the Caribbean by giving it a presence in St Lucia. Although the combination of two key players effectively dilutes competition in Barbados, BMI believes that consolidation of the Flow and TeleBarbados networks and brands will result in a stronger converged services offering in this market and we therefore have a positive view of the deal.
