Industry Partner Sought For Dailymotion Expansion

France Télécom has indicated that it may work with one or more industry partners to develop and enhance the global reach of Dailymotion's online video platform from 2013. The news comes as the French incumbent signals its intention to take full control of the business for approximately EUR72mn and increase its exposure to the fast-growing market for consumer internet video services as well as online advertising. Cisco Systems' latest forecast expects a 34% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in online video traffic between 2011 and 2016, with mobile-based traffic set to grow at a rate of 90% a year.
