The boom in wireless data services and the rapid proliferation of mobile services in developing markets has underpinned revenue growth. However, at the same time, margins have been eroded by intense competition from Chinese vendors Huawei and ZTE, which has hit Ericsson, along with Nokia Siemens Networks and Alcatel Lucent.
