Wireless Data: Medium Term Outlook Strong

Kazakhstan is a rapidly developing telecoms market with significant revenue growth opportunities for operators in the medium term, particularly from wireless data services. International operators TeliaSonera, VimpelCom and Tele2 are all present and increasing investment to capture a larger share of the market. BMI considers these investments likely to deliver medium-to-long-term gains. However, we believe intense competition and a slowdown in consumption growth in 2012 may diminish the short-term rewards for operators.
