Deutsche Telekom's M2M Marketplace Strengthens Strategy

Deutsche Telekom (DT) has launched its machine-to-machine (M2M) Marketplace, a B2B platform for manufacturers and dealers to offer hardware, software, applications and full package solutions. In the future, DT will also offer its SIM cards and chips for M2M through the marketplace. BMI expects the marketplace to boost DT's M2M business by catalysing the development of an M2M ecosystem focused on its connectivity and M2M service provision. However, we believe it will face strong competition as other global telecoms groups follow suit over the medium term.
