National Fibre-Optic Roll-Out Reaches First Municipality In Colombia

The Colombian Proyecto Nacional de Fibra Óptica reached its first municipality, the Colombian regulator Mintic revealed on April 18. Albania, Guajira is the first of 1,078 municipalities scheduled to be connected to the national fibre-optic network. BMI believes the fast development of the network in this isolated region bodes well for the nationwide roll-out and reinforces our positive outlook for broadband development in Colombia.
