STC's Telco 2.0 Ambitions To The Fore With Intigral Investment

Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) has paid SAR90mn (US$25mn) to take control of Intigral, a Dubai-based media company, reflecting its belief that broadband television and video-based digital media content applications and services will help it grow and diversify its future Telco 2.0 revenue streams. The move enables it to focus on the creation and acquisition of content relevant to its customers in Saudi Arabia and overseas. Specifically, BMI expects the closer relationship between the operator and the content provider will help it attract many more customers to its fixed and mobile broadband networks.
