Wipro Drives Growth Strategy In Africa, But Faces Growing Competition

Wipro launched its Africa operations about two years ago. The company employs around 500 people in its Johannesburg office, in addition to offsite staff servicing its clients across the region. Wipro's decision to use South Africa as a gateway into Africa is predicated on the high level of development of the local IT market as well as the foray of many South African companies into Africa.
