Alcatel-Lucent To Sell Enterprise Unit And Focus on Network Infrastructure Business
September 2011 | Company News AlertAlcatel-Lucent, the Franco-American equipment vendor, has been aiming to sell its enterprise unit for several months as part of its restructuring plan. The vendor is reportedly in talks with London-based buy-out fund Permira, for the sale of Genesys, just one part of its enterprise unit. However there are still significant issues to be resolved before a sale is finalised and there are reportedly other potential buyers that are interested. BMI considers the divestment of non-core divisions is strategically sound and we believe that reducing the scope of the deal, by selling components of its enterprise division, will allow Alcatel-Lucent to achieve a faster sale and get a higher price.
