Competition Hurdle For KPN Acquisition

NMa, the Dutch Competition Authority, said it will further investigate KPN's takeover of CAIW, the regional cable operator. The announcement follows the findings from an initial investigation that the acquisition could considerably reduce competition in areas CAIW serves. BMI shares the NMa's concern over reduced competition. However, we believe the acquisition should proceed based on concessions from KPN.
